Coordinated Sending-End Power System Frequency Regulation via UHVDC

The continuous improvement of new energy penetration reduces the inertia system, which leads to frequency deviation and rate change (RoCoF) being easily exceeded. To improve stability sending-end power systems with large-scale renewable access via ultra-high voltage direct current (UHVDC), coordinated control for UHVDC participating in system regulation (FR) including primary FR inertial response is presented. Based on simplified model, mechanism participation support its influence receiving-end characteristics are analyzed. Compared traditional synchronous generators, parameter calculating method proposed. root trajectory analysis, parameters system’s analyzed, constraints Then, based RTDS verification platform containing Lingshao ±800 kV protection under different strategies, operating conditions verified experimental results show that can effectively increase equivalent restrain RoCoF deviation, capability system.
